Benefits
How much will it cost me to update and maintain my handicap?
Your Players Club membership fee entitles you to one full season of maintaining your handicap. Membership expires December 31, 2009. Oregons 2009 golf season runs from March 1 through November 30. You must renew your ghin handicap each season.
When will I get my ghin number?
It usually takes about one to two days for your application to be processed.
How do I post scores to ghin?
You can post either from the Players Club Home Page where it says "Click Here to post scores to ghin" or you can go directly to ghin.com and post scores there.
NOTE: Posting scores on the Players Club site at the "Post Scores/Stats" Tab does not post to the ghin system. This is strictly for tracking purposes.
Ive posted some scores, why dont I have a handicap index yet?
You must have a minimum of five scores posted to enable the system to calculate an index. Also, Revisions come out every other week, so if you are between revisions, recently posted scores can be accessed via the "View 20 Most Recent" link. The Revision Schedule is posted on the ghin.com website.
Will I get a handicap card?
Your card will be emailed to you so you can print it out at home. It does not, however, come in the form of a sticker.
What is the GolfNow.com Event Series?
GolfNow.com will be setting up an event series for 2007 that will travel around to different clubs in the area. There will be prizes awarded for different games. You will have the opportunity to sign up for the limited amount of tee times before the non-Players Club members.
How do I get my free round?
You will be given access to the Players Club round redemption page. You will be given a password to the site and access to book one free round. You may also book for more than one player but you will be charged for that player.
What does the one year subscription to the Pacific Northwest Golf Magazine get me?
Pacific Northwest Golf Magazine is a publication put out by the Pacific Northwest Golf Association. The PNGA is an association that helps promote the game while providing their members valuable information about events and news.
What is statistical tracking and how does that help me?
Statistical tracking allows you to input your rounds statistics to track what you need to work on. Fairways hit, greens hit, and the number of putts per round is where most people need to improve and this will assist you in tracking that.
When will the club play?
Because we are new we want to give the membership the opportunity to have input in the schedule. We will definitely be playing Saturday mornings at least twice a month and possibly on weekdays if the interest is there.
*Restrictions on club membership: Rule 2/7. Clarification of Compliance/License issues for golf Club Categories Described in the Golf Club Definition. "Principal Location" (applies to Type 2 and Type 3 only)
The principal location of a golf club must be the physical address in the city or town which the club first identified in its application for a license to utilize the USGA Handicap System. So long as the golf club is in existence, the principal location must not be changed without the prior written consent of the authorized golf association of which the golf club is a member, or if the club is not a member of a golf association, of the USGA. Members of a golf club who are issued a Handicap Index must be from a small-defined geographic area, e.g., the residence or business address of each member of the golf club generally must be within approximately a 50 mile radius of the principal location of the golf club.
